A Cool New Summer Workout

When the sun shines outside and a cool breeze cuts through the warm air, its no wonder why exercisers want to take their workouts outside and breakout of their indoor fitness ruts. But when temperatures start soaring, humidity levels rise, and gusts of hot air are blowing outdoors, outside activity loses its appeal. But there’s any easy way to enjoy outdoor fitness regiments without even breaking a sweat? How? With water! Water exercise is so fun it doesn’t even feel like exercise. It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors, spend time with your family, and still get a workout.

Even if you are not an expert swimmer, you can still benefit from aquatic exercise. . Aquatic workouts go far beyond just swimming! There are many other forms of pool exercises, geared for every type of person. You can get a rigorous workout by swimming laps, or a fun, less intense one with water aerobics. You don’t even have to be a regular exerciser to try aquatic fitness. One of the great things about working out in the water is that even fitness novices can easily perform many of the moves.

Aquatic exercise is a great choice because it is an ideal fitness choice for all ages, from children to seniors! Everyone enjoys cooling off in the water, and it’s adaptable for every kind of exercise. Water exercise is a very good way to burn calories, improve your strength and flexibility, tone-up, improve your cardiovascular system, and just get more fit overall. And, the types of workouts are limitless! Most regular exercises can be modified and re-created in aquatic environments. If you don’t own a pool, look for a local public pool, or join a family facility such as the YMCA. Most local colleges and universities will also have programs where you can use their pools. You may even want to sign up for swimming or water aerobic classes! Aquatic exercise is a fresh new summer approach to fitness.
