This weight calculator is simply a guide provided to inform you of typical healthy weight ranges. Your goal weight may or may not fall within this range. Other information that is frequently gathered when determining an individual's weight range includes weight history, family weight history, healthiest weight as an adult, frame size and body composition (those with more muscle mass will typically weigh more than those with less muscle).

My goal weight is higher than this range
If your goal weight is higher than this range, you should feel confident that you are the best person to determine a comfortable goal weight for you. Your goal weight should be a reasonable weight for you to maintain and achieve ideal health.

My goal weight is lower than this range
If your goal weight is below this range, it may benefit you to be aware of the health consequences of an extremely low body weight. In women, a body weight that is too low may cause amenorrhea, or lack of menses. This could cause a decrease in bone density due to the low estrogen levels, which may increase the risk for stress fractures, osteopenia and osteoporosis. Infertility problems may also be a concern for women with amenorrhea. Extremely low body weight may indicate possible nutrition deficiencies or malnutrition.
