Raw Food Diet
The raw food diet is based on consuming unprocessed whole plant-based foods, of which at least 75% should be uncooked. These foods include vegetables, fruits, and even some types of meats. Digesting raw foods requires more energy from the body, and thereby burns more calories per meal.
A raw food diet can provide large improvements in health. The reasons are not known, but the experience is unmistakable. Weight normalizes, which generally means a reduction in fat. At the same time, a person feels extremely energized. It is apparent that there has been a major shift in physiology that makes one feel highly energized from raw food.
The raw food diet is nutrient dense, there is little or no saturated fat, it is low in sodium, high in potassium, and rich in fiber. These factors are important in helping to reduce the risk of certain diseases, such as heart disease and some cancers. Of course, as with any diet or change in eating habits, there will be some side effects that of which you should be aware. Some side effects from consuming the raw food diet can include occasional headaches, nausea, and mild depression.
