Dr Phil Diet

After a plethora of diets that demand staying away from this food group or staying away from that food type, the Dr. Phil diet offers something new and refreshing that could be a good approach for people who have not been successful trying traditional diet plans. The Dr. Phil diet is more psychological than physical. His diet, according to the book, is that people who are overweight must change their attitudes, thoughts, and behaviors to shed pounds. Although there is some information in Dr. Phil's diet about nutrition and exercise, most of it deals with what is going on in your brain and not your stomach.

The Dr. Phil Plan teaches Seven Keys to permanent weight loss. The first key teaches the dieter to rid themselves of the thought that they cannot be successful with a diet. The second key allows the dieter to understand the emotional element of why they overeat. The third key helps to manage the environment, so that the reasons you overeat are gone. The fourth key is to understand why one binges. The fifth key teaches the dieter about food control. The sixth key advises on healthy exercise habits, and the seventh key suggests assembling a group of friends with similar goals.

The Dr. Phil diet is realistic, but you must be mentally ready to make changes in your lifestyle before you can be successful. Dr. Phil warns against weighing what you weighed in high school. Your metabolism was probably different, as was your activity level. Instead, he encourages setting realistic goals based on how you think you will feel if you achieved a particlar weight, and then determining a healthy weight for youself.
