3 Day Diet

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the 3 Day Diet? Is this the right diet plan to help you to jumpstart your long term diet program?


The 3 Day Diet refers to any short term, highly restrictive diet that you can follow to jumpstart your long term diet program. Rumors of 3 Day Diets have surfaced and spread claiming that, followed strictly, one can lose up to 10 pounds in 3 days. The truth behind the rumor is slightly skewed! If the 10 pounds is even possible, most of this weight is surely lost in water weight, as many 3 day diets instruct dieters to drink excessive amounts of water or even use diuretics. While these diets may work for some for a quick slim down before an event, these 3 Day Diet plans are not sustainable.

Some other popular short term diet plans include the Grapefruit Juice Diet and the Cabbage Soup Diet, both of which are very restrictive and should not be followed for a long period of time. If you do decide to follow a 3 Day Diet or other short term diet plan, make sure to provide your body with the nutrients that it is losing with vitamins and supplements.
